Elementary School Counselor

Hello!  I am Mrs. Petit, your school counselor.  This is my first year to be at the elementary full time.  I am here to assist & provide you with resources to meet your child’s needs.  Feel free to contact me with any questions regarding the social, emotional, or educational development of your child.  The best way to get in contact with me is through email.

I offer classroom presentations, group counseling, brief solution-focused individual counseling, parent consultations, & community resource referrals.

  • Classroom Lessons – character education, conflict resolution, social skills, etc.
  • Individual Counseling – setting goals, self-esteem, peer pressure, school routines, etc.
  • Small Group Counseling – social skills, study skills, grief, divorce, self-regulation, etc.

School counseling attempts to help ALL children get the most out of school.  Please note school counselors do NOT provide “therapy” or “traditional counseling”.  Referrals for outside counseling services are available for children experiencing long-term issues, such as divorce, grief, family separation, deployment, trauma, or mental health concerns.
